Wil-Merie Greyling

Wil-Merie is an innovative contemporary visual artist, specialising in sculpture, painting, mural art, singing and ballet.

She completed a BA Honours majoring in Creative Expression and Ceramics (UNAM) and obtained an MFA (Rhodes).

In her thesis, titled "Namibian Dense Salt Blocks and the Cape Cross Salt Pans as Visual Metaphors," she researched the Namibian mining industry, and her salt sculptures were exhibited at the National Art Festival in South Africa.

Wil-Merie was selected for the OMDis Artist in Residence program in 2023 (Tsau Khaeb Sperrgebiet).

She launched Multichoice Pan African projects, including Face of Africa, Big Brother, Channel O, and CNN journalist projects in Namibia.

Her motivation for joining the NAA Executive Committee (2025-2026) is to advocate for regional collaboration, residencies, and dedicated creative spaces, and to foster networking across regions and with international art bodies, ensuring that artists are actively represented in national arts development within the creative economy.
